Overview
dropbags.io is operated by Dead Reckoning Labs, Inc. (deadreckoninglabs.com) (“we,” “our,” or “us”). dropbags.io helps race organizers track runners' drop bags and return them after the race, and runs the dropbags.io Drop Bag Updates text message program. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
Information we collect
- From the race organizer: your name, bib number, race distance and, where the organizer provides it, your email address, phone number and mailing address.
- From you: drop bag choices, shipping details and, if you opt in to text updates, the mobile number you want updates sent to.
- When you opt in to text updates: the consent text you agreed to, the date and time, and the IP address and browser you used.
- From race operations: scans and photos of your drop bag and its location.
How we use your information
We use your information only to run drop bag logistics for your race: tracking your bag, telling you where it is, and getting it back to you by pickup or shipping. Your mobile number is used only to send you dropbags.io Drop Bag Updates text messages about your own drop bag. We do not use your information for marketing.
Text messages and data sharing
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Shipping payments are processed by Stripe and shipping labels by our shipping provider; they receive only what they need for that task.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any text message to stop receiving messages. You will get one confirmation and no further messages. Reply START to rejoin. Reply HELP for help, or email info@aravaiparunning.com.
Data retention
We keep bag records after the race so unclaimed bags can be resolved and for the organizer's records. We keep your mobile number and opt-in record while you are subscribed. You may ask us to delete your contact details at any time by emailing info@aravaiparunning.com.
Security
Your information is stored with access limited to race operations staff who need it. Runner pages are reached through private links.
